Frankly, I’m not wildly concerned about Micheal Bay ruining TMNT. There have been a lot of bad iterations of TMNT already, and I’m certainly not going to lose sleep over one more. Sure making them aliens is a pretty heinous diversion from cannon, but the entire series started as a parody. One could say that any iteration that takes itself seriously is somewhat of a diversion.

Journey is a cool little indie art game about getting the best scarf. I couldn’t think of hipper game if I tried. Except maybe if I’d never heard of it. In all seriousness though, Journey is outstanding. I highly recommend getting it if only to give money to people doing something interesting and good. I find that the presentation of a created world through interaction and exploration...

I’ve never actually played Angry Birds, and I don’t really have any desire to. It certainly wasn’t anything new when it came out. I’d played a ton of games just like it. I guess it was just the perfect combination of timing and quirkiness when the iPhone came out. On the other hand, I have played the Mass Effect games. I enjoy them, but I don’t love them. I find the...

John and I often wonder about the life of Snorlax. He sleeps for most of his life and spends every waking moment eating himself into oblivion. It seems sad on the surface, but really, it sounds pretty laid back. I don’t think I’d mind too much. It’s the people around him that are going through hell.  What about poor little Snorlax Jr. Who takes care of Munchlax while his father...

I wish we had made up Space Kraken. I feel like we would just call the giant tentacle monster from space a kraken. Tacking on “Space” just seems unnecessary. Anyway, despite wildly diverging from the original game’s aesthetic, Kid Icarus Uprising looks very good.  As long as it’s not absurdly unwieldy to play (something the trailers have not convinced me of) I think it...

We’re back. John’s moved, and we now have a brand new place to write comics.  Thanks again to everyone who stepped up to write guest comics last week. I hope everyone enjoyed them.

Today, we have our final guest comic of the week coming from my friend Josh Stippich. Come back Monday for the return of John and me and your regularly scheduled Ready Soup, but first, here’s Josh: First, I’d like to say I’m honored to be able to exhibit Michael Otter’s mouth for the first time.  Second, I bounced around a few ideas before deciding what to do for this...

Today’s guest comic comes from the magnificent, meteoric, and downright majestic Kari Larsen. Kari Larsen has her own office at her day job and she suffers from what is apoetically known as Nightmare Disorder. She is on the masthead of Seven Kitchens Press, Anobium Books, and ISMs Press. Her work is appearing this year in Caketrain, Anomalous, Two Serious Ladies, and the Rumpus, and her...

The writing duties on today’s comic went to John and my oldest friend and the inspiration for Michael Otters, Frank Otto, and I stepped in as artist. Frank wrote the following about the comic: So, this was my first real foray into comic-making and it was two things: hilarious and exhausting. Being funny with almost no prompt whatsoever isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Try it....

Today’s comic comes from my brother Nick Mitchell. While he’s not particularly good at drawing, he’s damn good at making and painting Warhammer models, so without further ado, here he is: Hey everybody this is Nick Mitchell, guest artist and writer for today.  Let me preface by saying I have the utmost respect for both the police and Mounties.  I in fact have an entire Warhammer...
