Not really much to say about this one. I’m not actually even sure is the Banjo-Kazooie characters are supposed to be in a band. they are all playing together in the opening of the game, but it’s never mentioned again. On the other hand, no other back story is mentioned either. It’s all very unclear.

I love silent protagonists. Its ability to allow the reader to impose whatever personality they want upon the character is rather unique to video games. Generally, this is used when the protagonist is meant to be a stand in for the player in games like Pokemon. the odd thing about characters like Link and especially Gordon Freeman is that this isn’t really the case. They’re pretty...

A far as I’m concerned, the Left 4 Dead games are the greatest multiplayer games of all time. I only use the caveat of “multiplayer” because I’m not sure how much credit to give a game for me enjoying spending time with my friends. No game comes close to them when it comes to total amount of time I spent having fun playing them. When we first started playing, my brother...

Every once in a while when John and I are doing a particularly wimpy job of coming up with a comic, we hear a knocking at the door. We ignore it at first as we have more important matters to attend to, but the knocking persists. “We’re not buying anything,” we yell, hoping to be left alone, but still it persists. “We’re busy. Go away,” we say, and finally it...

Today’s comic is once again about Diablo III as John is actually playing it now instead of waiting for the servers to clear up. But really, it could be applied to any RPG. Store owners never seems to offer any special consideration to you in video games when you’re trying to stop the world from blowing up. Perhaps they’re hoping that being a particularly greedy sonofabitch will...

It always struck me as odd that the kids at Hogwarts always had so much downtime to get into all their crazy hijinks. If studying consisted of learning how to transform myself into a bear, I would be studying 24 hours a day. It’s not like they have something cooler to be doing. At what point do people say, “I’m tired of practicing shooting fireballs at each other. Let’s...

All Marvel had to do to make Avengers vs. X-Men awesome was to think of a relatively plausible explanation as to why the two sides are fighting each other. Somehow, the best thing they could think of was to have both sides have essentially the same goal with marginally different methods. These people have been fighting alongside each other for years. To have them fight over what really boils down...

Diablo III came out. John tells me it’s not working due to some sort of server crashes, but I haven’t really been following. The truth is I don’t have a PC that could run it right now, so I’ve really put it out of my mind. It certainly looks incredible, but I know that of I look at it too much or think too long on it, it will destroy me.

I really don’t like the male character design from Pokemon Black and White 2. More importantly than the stupid hair and visor, I don’t like that he is so unique. This may seem like an odd complaint, but I want my character in Pokemon to be generic enough that I can project myself upon him. Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver were great in this way. Since then I feel like the characters have...

Does Call of Duty Really think no one asked what would happen if someone took control of our unmanned drones? Do they really think that’s not the first thing people asked when unmanned drones were invented? It seems like every new Call of Duty game makes me like it less. They are just the complete opposite type of game I want to play.

I’ve always been a fan of games not taking themselves so seriously, and I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that fits that more than Zombies Ate my Neighbors. John and I have been playing it lately, and they just throw whatever they want at you. One level you’ll be shooting mummies with water guns, the next you’ll be racing against martians to gather up...

Despite being a ridiculous mash up between a video game and a completely unrelated historical figure, Pokemon Conquest looks awesome. I like strategy games, and I like Pokemon, so hopefully I will like the combination. Also it should be noted, we here at Ready Soup love Bidoof.

As much as we love the super detailed pixel style of games like Odin Sphere and Muramasa the Demon Blade, the character designs on Dragon’s Crown are just ridiculous. it looks like they just Photoshopped the amazon’s legs to be twice as big as they used to be. We actually had a very similar comic planned a while ago when we found out that Rob Liefeld would be drawing some of the new...

A new trailer for Rayman Legends leaked recently. Now its predecessor Rayman Origins is John and my favorite game of last year with the exception of Skyward Sword, and while we are very excited to play more of the same, the most interesting part of the trailer is that it shows off the ability for the WiiU to read real world objects and have them affect the game. In the wake of the wild success of...
